The 2016 Condrieu Clos Chanson is the only Condrieu Perret puts entirely in oak, but the wood doesn't show in the finished wine. From vines planted in 1960, this is floral and spicy on the nose, followed by a plump, medium to full-bodied palate that manages to be silky and rich while also being fresh and lively. Hints of chalk dust or crushed stone linger on the finish.
