Moving to the 2014s, these are more fresh, elegant and lively than the 2015s, yet have impressive purity and precision. Much more mineral driven, with notes of powdered rock, liquid smoke, caramelized white peach and flower oil, the 2014 Condrieu Clos Chanson is fat and unctuous on the palate, with a big texture and notable freshness and purity. I like the Chéry a touch more, but this is still a tour de force that ranks up with the top wines of the appellation.
