The 2008 Chardonnay is barrel-fermented and aged for 4 months in new French oak with weekly batonnage. The result is an inexpensive Chardonnay with serious pretentions. Light gold-colored, it displays aromas of buttered popcorn and poached pear. Creamy textured and flavorful, this is an excellent value in Chardonnay for drinking over the next 2 years. The Vega Sindoa label, produced by Bodegas Nekeas in Navarra, has long been known for value.Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates from Spain, Dedham, MA; tel. (781) 461-5767
