Harvested from 28 September, Ponsot's 1971 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is a brilliant mature Burgundy, offering up aromas of sweet plums and red fruit compote mingled with rose petals, exotic spices, orange rind and carnal nuances. Full-bodied and seamless, with melting tannins and a long, perfumed finish, it only gets better with time in the glass.
