The 2007 Sauvignon Quarz is naturally richer and more expansive than the Winkl as it caresses the palate with layers of perfumed fruit, lime peel, minerals, peaches and sage. The wine’s persistence and length are remarkable, even if the bouquet remains a touch aggressive in this vintage. Malolactic fermentation and partial aging in oak give the Quarz much of its volume.
