The 2011 Barbera d’Alba is gorgeous. Though still slightly closed because of its recent bottling, the 2011 impresses for the purity of its fruit and fabulous overall balance. A hint of flowers and cloves adds complexity on the juicy, vibrant finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. Hilberg-Pasquero can be counted on to deliver rich, flavorful wines loaded with personality. The small, tiny estate continues to be a beacon for quality in the Roero.
