The 2002 Pinot Noir Ashley’s Vineyard is the firmest, most backward, and least generous of this quartet from Fess Parker and his winemaker/son, Eli. Deep ruby/purple with an unevolved nose of sweet cherries and pomegranate, it possesses medium body, a firm palate, and attractive purity, but appears to be holding most of its character in reserve. With moderate tannin, crisp acidity, and a long finish, it requires 1-2 years of cellaring, and should last for a decade.
