A good cuvee is the 2005 Les Hauts des Coteaux, which is presumably a selection from some of the better hillside vineyards in the appellation. Medium to dark ruby with notes of plum, black cherry, herbs, pepper, and earth, it is full-bodied, has excellent flesh and richness, and should have the best longevity of 7-8 years.
This huge cooperative/negociant located just adjacent to the Autoroute du Soleil, almost parallel to the estate of Beaucastel on the other side of the Autoroute, seems to have upgraded quality considerably in the last several years. Not that these are profound Provencal wines, but they certainly show much more character and quality than in the past.
No known American importer.
