A blend of 90% Grenache and 5% each of Mourvedre and Syrah, aged half in concrete and half in barrels, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hauts des Coteaux is a solid effort that has rich, slightly modern profile with ripe blackberry, cassis, hints of vanilla and new leather all emerging from the glass. Seamless, supple and pure, with full-bodied richness and depth, it should continue to evolve gracefully through 2020. Drink now-2020.
This large co-op produces a bevy of well made, delicious efforts that are geared for near-term drinking.
