Although the 1994 Chateauneuf du Pape seems less concentrated than it did prior to bottling (too much fining and filtering?), it is still a very good to excellent example of the appellation and the vintage. The color is a healthy dark ruby/garnet. The fragrant, moderately intense bouquet of herbs, olives, cedar, plums and cherries is followed by a spicy, sweet, expansively flavored, medium to full-bodied, forward, accessible wine.
