With fruit from La Morra, the 2017 Barolo Gattera shows dark and concentrated fruit, with cherry, cassis and dried blackberry at the front. This expression from Gattera is deeply floral on second nose, with a big dose of lilac and lavender that segues to rosemary and even a hint of freshly cut grass. The aromas become a little more scattered and disjointed as the wine unfolds in the glass. My feelings are not as strong toward this cru's vintage. 2,500 bottles were produced.
