Exhibiting a deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet black cherry fruit, and an earthy, medium-bodied palate feel, the 1999 Valpolicella Classico Sant Urbano sees more oak aging than the 2000, and was obviously made from riper fruit, some of which was dried in order to increase extraction and flavor intensity. It is a very good, nicely concentrated, supple 1999 to enjoy over the next 2-3 years.Importer: Empson, USA, Alexandria, VA; tel. (703) 684-0900
