The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon Buriano displays a St.-Julien-like lead pencil, cassis, and cedar-scented nose, and medium-bodied, backward, tannic flavors with enough balancing, rich blackcurrant fruit. The wine needs another 5-6 years of cellaring. Given its aging in new French barriques, it could easily be inserted as a ringer in a Bordeaux tasting. This wine should be close to full maturity in 5-6 years; it will keep for 15 or more. Importer: Vias Imports, New York, NY; tel. (212) 629-0200
