The maiden 1999 Allende Blanco has a lovely nose of honey, lemon curd and lanolin with fine definition. It has a mellow entry with dried honey, melted butter and hazelnut, with crisp acidity fanning out towards the lightly honeyed, waxy finish, which has fine delineation and a lovely roundness. Drink now-2017.
Commencing with the Allende Blanc, I was impressed by how well this ages. Predominantly Viura with a higher percentage of Malvasia in older vintages, it develops a fine waxy texture and almost dried Barsac-like personality.
