The 2005 Allende Blanco is a worthy follow-up to the 2004, with honeysuckle, popcorn and apricot on the convincing nose. The palate is well-balanced with good acidity, although it is not quite as expressive as the 2004 on the tightly wound finish. Maybe a year more in bottle would not go amiss? Drink now-2017.
Commencing with the Allende Blanc, I was impressed by how well this ages. Predominantly Viura with a higher percentage of Malvasia in older vintages, it develops a fine waxy texture and almost dried Barsac-like personality.
