Sporting a velvety dark appearance, the 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva shows some of the warmth of the 2011 vintage. The wine's concentration is soft and thick, and the bouquet shows ripe cherry, plum and a hint of dried prune. The mouthfeel is beautifully plush and enduring. If you like a softer style of Sangiovese, this wine fits the bill. It probably won't age as long compared to the cooler 2010 vintage. But, it makes a perfect option for near-term drinking.
