The 1999 Barolo, the regular bottling, is an attractive, solid garnet with a strawberry/wild cherry, tar, licorice, and floral nose and a good medium weight with round tannins and good freshness and spice. However, it suffers from a slight loss of momentum on the finish which prevents the score from going higher. But this is a well made, balanced wine, to drink between 2005 and 2016.
