Proprietor David Mozzone chose not to bottle his single-vineyard Barolo Pernanno in 2003, opting instead for a blend of his best lots. The 2003 Barolo is a lovely effort. It exhibits wonderful balance in its rich, sweet expression of the vintage, with all of its elements in perfect balance. Made in a bold, racy style, it reveals notable depth and a long, inviting finish. This is one of the sleeper wines of the vintage and it offers superb quality for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020.
