Crushed flowers, raspberries, roses, tar and licorice are some of the notes that emerge from the 2006 Barolo. Deceptively medium in body, the wine nevertheless presents a gorgeous contrast of intensity and weightlessness that among red varieties is possible only with Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. This is a delicate, understated Barolo that impresses for its classiness and sheer elegance. In 2006 proprietor David Mozzone opted not to bottle his single-vineyard Barolo Pernanno and used the best fruit to strengthen the normal bottling, a decision that has turned out to be right on the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024.
