A single-vineyard expression from Serralunga d'Alba, the 2010 Barolo Margheria is a wine of enormous dimension and depth. Malolactic fermentation is not started with increased temperatures. Instead, the wine is placed in large oak casks and secondary fermentation occurs in a fully natural manner when the conditions are right. This represents a return to local tradition, and this process helps to safeguard the authenticity of those delicate Nebbiolo aromas. You get wild berries and blue flower with licorice and smoke at the back.

Round in profile, with base notes of plum, leather and tar to balance the higher-toned flavors of cherry, flowers and white pepper. Firm and lean on the finish now, with a mouthwatering aftertaste that echoes fruit and spice details. Great length.
