The 1993 Brunello di Montalcino is a full-bodied, powerful wine with surprisingly sweet tannin. The color is dark garnet with some amber at the edge. The nose offers up waves of smoke, roasted nuts, fruitcake, black cherries, Asian spices, and herbs. Rich, with no hard edges, plenty of glycerin, and a long finish, this evolved, complete wine can be drunk now, or cellared for 10-12 years.
