The two premier crus from Vosne-Romanee are outstanding wines. The Vosne-Romanee Les Brulees, made from 30 hectoliters per hectare, exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, and a sweet nose of black fruits nicely complemented by toasty, smoky new oak. Medium to full-bodied, moderately tannic, and in need of 4-5 years of cellaring, it should drink well for 10-15 years. Yes, it does have that smoky characteristic, which is no doubt one of the reasons for this vineyard's name. Meo-Camuzet's 1993s are unquestionably successes for the vintage. All the wines were bottled in April, 1995 without fining or filtration.
