The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Pergole Vece is strikingly beautiful. A rich kaleidoscope of sage, menthol, minerals and black cherries wraps around the palate as this firm, structured Amarone opens up in the glass. Despite its considerable appeal, the Pergole Vece is a wine built for the cellar. This is a fabulous effort from Le Salette. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026.
