The 1996 Borsao (80% Grenache and 20% Tempranillo) is a distinctive, Rhone-like wine with earthy, peppery, cherry-like fruit. It is medium-bodied and soft, with more smoke and black cherry characteristics than found in its sibling, good glycerin, fine, clean winemaking, and a spicy finish. It should drink well for 1-2 years. An excellent bargain, this 1996 from the Agricola de Borja is not as fat and richly fruity as its 1995 and 1994 counterparts, but it is still among the better wine values available in the marketplace.Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates From Spain, Dedham, MA; tel.
