The 2014 Sensibility Grenache from the Paderewski vineyard was harvested September 4-8 and fermented and matured in concrete. "This was the first year we had our concrete Tulips from Italy," winemaker Jordan Fiorentini remembers, "so you will see more control in the wines from here." The 2014 vintage was very hot, and the concrete seems to have helped give the wine some lift to counter its intensity. It's deeply scented of Morello cherries, blood orange, dark spices and earth, with deep red fruit character on the palate and a supple, juicy frame, finishing long and floral. It still has plenty of time to go in bottle, and 242 cases were made.
