The 1997 Meursault Clos de Mazeray reveals a nose of minerals, sea salt, and white currants. It is a floral, white fruit, and groseille (red currant)-flavored wine. Its medium-bodied, elegant, and flavorful core of fruit is rich, broad, and well-crafted. It possesses good grip, particularly for the vintage. Drink it over the next 5 years. Ripe and rich, with tropical, citrusy and floral notes, all presented in a full-bodied package. Lacks a bit of class and terroir, but shows megaintensity, with a slight late harvest, dried fruit finish that's exotic.
