The 2008 St.-Joseph l'Olivaie exhibits notes of roasted Provencal herbs, black cherries, red and black currants, licorice and underbrush. This elegant, round wine should be consumed over the next 2-3 years.
One of the finest young producers in the Northern Rhone is Jerome Coursodon. His 2008s are competent efforts, but his 2009s are among the most prodigious St.-Josephs of the vintage. Only two cuvees were produced in 2008.
