Outstanding, the not yet bottled 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Privilege is 50% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 12% Mourvedre and the rest Cinsault, Clairette and Bourboulenc. Aged partially in new barrels, it has some subtle wood influence, yet stays firmly planted in the south of France, with loads of spice, licorice, toasted bread and assorted dark fruits. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and with outstanding length, it should have a decade or more of longevity.
