This promising 2000 is tightly structured (resembling the 2001s more than the open-knit 2000s) with pure sweet black cherry fruit, cassis, leather, and licorice characteristics. There are also subtle notes of pepper and herbs. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, and generous, with moderately high tannin in the finish, this classic Chateauneuf du Pape will be at its finest between 2005-2017.
