The 2007 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Il Recioto is a dense, thick wine imbued with dark jammy blueberries, blackberries, new leather, violets and French oak. It shows good up-front richness but then loses a little steam on the mid-palate and finish. Still, with time in the glass, the wine finds its center quite nicely. This is a relatively fresh, easygoing style of Recioto best suited to near-term enjoyment. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015.
