Revello’s 2003 Barolo offers terrific quality at the normale level. Fresh and aromatic, this enticing wine reveals spiced dark cherries and chocolate on a medium-bodied frame, with notable persistence and plenty of style. It is a sweet, generous Barolo that should offer highly enjoyable drinking to age ten or so. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2013. Even though La Morra was the most penalized commune in 2003, this is a strong set of releases from brothers Enzo and Carlo Revello, whose small estate is located in the Annunziata sub-zone. Revello is among the growers who have started to move away from an exclusive use of small French oak barrels, and has added medium-size casks in recent years.A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel.
