The 2012 Saint Peray Pur Blanc is brilliant! Coming all from very old Marsanne vines and aged in demi-muid for 8 months, it offers gorgeous white flowers, quince, dried pineapple and liquid-like minerality on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, with the purity and elegance that’s common from the whites of this estate, it builds on the palate and has serious length. I can’t imagine this not evolving gracefully, yet I still would opt for drinking it over the coming 2-4 years.
Proprietor Stephane Robert is knocking it out of the park from his tiny cellar located in Saint Peray. Producing up to three Cornas in any given vintage, he also releases four whites from Saint Peray and a serious Saint Joseph.
