While I thought the 2013 Prestige was the wine of the appellation, I had to change that opinion once I tasted the 2013 St Péray Pur Blanc. Coming from two small parcels that yield just about 400 bottles, this brilliant white is 100% Marsanne that spent eight month in barrel. Rich, fatter and more textured than the Prestige, it exhibits notes of sautéed citrus, tangerine, honeysuckle and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pure and seamless, with a blockbuster finish, it’s an awesome Saint Péray to enjoy over the coming 3-5 years, if not longer.
