One can see that 1964 was a very hot vintage given the roasted, charred, singed character of this wine's fruit. Opulent and rich, with a velvety texture, a big, bold, earthy, spicy, smoky nose, and a sweet, expansive, chewy finish, this is one of the more decadent of the Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico Riservas. It should continue to drink well for another 5-6 years.A Leonardo LoCasio Selection, imported by Winebow Imports, Hohokus, NJ; (800) 445-0620.
