The 2009 Chianti Classico is utterly impeccable in this vintage. Sweet red cherries, tobacco, licorice, cedar and spices are some of the nuances that emerge from this super-classic Chianti Classico. The warm vintage has given the Chianti an extra level of body and elegance. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. San Giusto is a reference-point estate that encapsulates so many of the artisan values that make the best wines of Tuscany so appealing. The Baroncole remains San Giusto’s least consistent wine, but all of the other reds are flying very high these days.
