Font de Michelle's Cuvee Etienne Gonnet is a 1,000 case, barrique-aged blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 10% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre. The outstanding 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet has a dense ruby/purple color as well as aromas of sweet vanilla, lavender, roasted herbs, pepper, cherry, plum, and cassis fruit. It is an opulent, expansive effort with supple tannin, ample complexity, and a classic, long, 40+ second finish. Low acidity, ripe fruit, and sweet tannin suggest it can be drunk now and over the next 15 years.
