The 2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a beautiful, sexy red laced with perfumed fruit, dried flowers, menthol and hints of licorice, all of which seem to float on the palate with remarkable grace. The overall impression is one of silkiness, with sweet, refined tannins that frame the fruit to the finish. The warm, radiant quality of the vintage is on full display. Chewy and tannic, with good fruit, but the new wood is a little dominant now. Full and rich, with sweet berry and toasty oak flavors, followed by a vanilla aftertaste. Give this time and enjoy.
