From a vineyard that was recently considered for Grand Cru status, the Meursault Perrieres boasts a gorgeous nose of liquid rocks and flowers. Explosive in the mouth, this wine's cascade of sweet, ripe, structured, stony, minerally fruits, is followed by fine length. In my mind, Perrieres should be upgraded to a Grand Cru. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29. Importer: Dreyfus Ashby, New York, NY; tel (212) 818-0770.
