Gras' genius for turning out high quality wines in dreadful years is even more apparent in 1991 than 1992. Only one-third of his production was estate bottled. The dark ruby-colored 1991 Gigondas exhibits an enticing chocolatey, cedary, Provencal herb-scented nose, sweet, jammy, black-cherry fruit, fruitcake-like flavors, and a spicy, medium-bodied, soft finish. It is a super effort from this undistinguished vintage. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; Tel. (202) 832-9083
