A classic wine that's just now starting to fire on all cylinders, the 2006 Gigondas (75% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault) has lots of sweet red fruits, forest floor, mushroom and earth in its medium to full-bodied, mature, yet elegant and balanced style. It will keep longer, yet I'd drink it over the coming 3-5 years.

More reserved, backward and tannic than the domaine’s 2006 Tradition, this wine features similar aromas of garrigue and flavors of chocolate, black olive, plum and spice. It’s firm on the finish, but boasts sufficient fruit to see it through. Drink 2012–2020.——J.C.(12/15/2009)—— 92
