The 2000 Barolo is a dark, deeply colored wine with plenty of dark fruit, leather, licorice, espresso and mocha. It is now fully mature, but has enough depth to drink well for another few years. While the 2000 has developed a bit quickly, it has also aged pretty evenly. There is no upside to keeping bottles further. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.

Fantastic aromas of crushed blackberries, plums and dark chocolate follow through to a full-bodied palate with velvety tannins and a vanilla, berry and cherry aftertaste. Very fruit-forward.
