Bongiovanni’s 2004 Barolo Pernanno is a plump, juicy Barolo endowed with a multitude of dark plums, prunes, black cherries, spice and menthol. It offers greater structure, complexity and length than the regular bottling. This harmonious Barolo is a terrific effort. For the Pernanno, Mozzone typically uses about 50% new French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024.
Proprietor Davide Mozzone is a passionate, energetic man endowed with a charismatic sense of humor. His enthusiasm is reflected in the wines themselves, which seem to improve with every passing vintage.
