The single-vineyard 2007 Barolo Pernanno is quite a bit richer and darker than the regular Barolo. Espresso, mocha and plums are some of the nuances that emerge from the glass. The Pernanno sees 45-50% new oak. Despite its considerable body, it isn’t necessarily the better wine; personally I would prefer a glass of the Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017.
