The 2006 Aglianico del Vulture La Firma is a muscular, full-throttle red. Made in a super-ripe style, the wine reveals masses of plums, cherries, chocolate, spices and French oak on a soft, textured frame. Here too, richness takes precedence over varietal expression, yet the wine remains compelling all the same. The old-vine La Firma was aged in 100% new French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
