Although Coche admits to harvesting too late in 1991, his wines are excellent, with several exceptions. The exceptional 1991 Meursault-Les Perrieres, which Coche feels is too supple, offers a nose of buttery overtones intermixed with aromas of vanillin, smoked nuts, and coconut. Rich and medium to full-bodied, with gobs of juicy, succulent, lush fruit, this precocious Les Perrieres should be consumed over the next 3-4 years.
While Coche may lament the fact that these wines do not possess structure and acidity for longevity, they are decadent, rich, lusty white burgundies.
