Tasted at the vertical retrospective at the property. The 2012 Chateau Dauzac, a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot, is a little more rustic than the 2011: more undergrowth scents here, complemented by mint and violet. The palate is medium-bodied, missing a little depth on the entry with the fruit not quite as ripe as the 2011, and it feels a little curtailed on the finish. Maybe this was one vintage of Dauzac where I was hoping for a little more. Tasted June 2015.
