Only one wine was produced in 2008, the 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape traditional cuvee. Soft and round, with a dark plum/garnet color, it offers up an attractive bouquet of garrigue, licorice, black cherries and tar. Enjoy this delicious, complex red over the next 4-5 years.
This is a property on the upswing, and consumers who have not yet had a chance to taste Proprietor Yannick Gasparri’s wines should be checking them out. I purchased several of his 2007s, and have been thrilled with every bottle. There are three offerings in 2009, two that are undeniable successes, as well as a third that needs more time to pull itself together.
