Following the death of their father, Antonin Faravel, sons Gilles and Thierry have begun to push the level of quality of this moderately sized estate to a higher level. The estate's name is a Provencal word for the groves of trees that were cut down in order to plant the vines on the terraces at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The Faravels produce two wines. Their regular cuvee is a rustic Gigondas with raspberry fruit and plenty of earthy overtones. Their cuvee speciale, La Font de Tonin, is made from older vines with no Mourvedre in the blend. The potential at this estate remains largely unexploited, but these traditionally made wines have displayed more strength and intensity over the last 7-8 years.
