The 2006 Rosso di Montalcino is a fat, opulent wine loaded with vibrant super-ripe dark fruit. It coats the palate with terrific depth and luxuriousness and should continue to drink beautifully over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011. I continue to be impressed with the wines of La Poderina, which is located in Castelnuovo dell’Abate.
