The 2011 Rosso di Montalcino is a great introduction to the wines of the estate. A juicy, exuberant wine, the 2011 flows across the palate with layers of expressive red fruits, flowers and spices. As it often is, La Poderina’s Rosso is built on fruit above all else. In this vintage, all the elements come together beautifully. A radiant, floral-infused finish rounds out this stylish, racy Rosso. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2017. La Poderina is one of my favorite Montalcino properties. It’s great to see the estate back on track after what seemed like a few uneven vintages. All of these new releases are highly recommended.
